Whittaker won the interim middleweight title over Yoel Romero at UFC 213 at July of 2017 and has been promoted to undisputed champion in December after Georges St-Pierre vacated the title. Kelvin Gastelum (15-3, with one no-contest) will probably be battling for the UFC title for the first time in his career.
